Since interning on an organic farm 25 years ago, growing vegetables has been her passion and life’s work.
After absorbing as much as she could from her farmer mentors, she set off to start her own small farm, selling produce and plants at farmers’ markets and teaching gardening classes to kids and adults.
A seasonal job at a vegetable seed company later grew into a career that had her boots on the ground in fields across the country, learning from the pros. Her roles included managing variety trials and the development of the product line with the goal of offering commercial farmers the best varieties for their needs.
She loves to share her tricks of the trade with home gardeners as a consultant, speaker, and writer so that they too have the tools they need to successfully grow healthy, delicious vegetables.
